Never in my life have I been so aware of being a female.
Never in my life have I resented this simple fact so much.
It is truly a man's world, and anyone who tries to deny it is blind.
I feel as if you are experiencing, in your own unique way, a little bit of my journey last year- the ups and downs of living and traveling in another country.
I struggled so much in the Kekchi culture. Muy machismo! But try to silence your inner feminine spirit. Watch. Listen. Learn. Love. Respect. Reserve judgement.

My prayer right now is that my life will align more with Christ so that I may see things not as I am, but instead as he is. How beautiful, the thought of seeing people, life, the world, as Christ sees it.

You should call me. I <3 you.
It's a new world to us, an old world to everyone else. Be strong, learn, hold your inner head high.
ReplyDeleteAnne my experience is very different from yours.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the situations that sparked this blog post were not situations in which to silence my spirit, observe, and respect.
I can't even begin to describe the male harassment we've gotten everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
From males of all ages.
I like that Jess :)
